Wishing for a film!

A Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder

Laying hands upon the injured and dying, Avry of Kazan assumes their wounds and diseases into herself. But rather than being honored for her skills, she is hunted. Healers like Avry are accused of spreading the plague that has decimated the Territories, leaving the survivors in a state of chaos.

Stressed and tired from hiding, Avry is abducted by a band of rogues who, shockingly, value her gift above the golden bounty offered for her capture. Their leader, an enigmatic captor-protector with powers of his own, is unequivocal in his demands: Avry must heal a plague-stricken prince—leader of a campaign against her people. As they traverse the daunting Nine Mountains, beset by mercenaries and magical dangers, Avry must decide who is worth healing and what is worth dying for. Because the price of peace may well be her life...

This has to be one of my favourite books! I love books that feature a strong female heroin and especially when they have paranormal abilities like Avry who can heal people. But she's not immortal, healing comes with a price and sometimes the hard choice of saving someones life and maybe sacrificing your own, highlights the harsh reality within this fantasy. She is the ultimate heroin!

This book is set in a world of its own called The Fifteen Realms, a corrupt nation with vengeance  filled thoughts, that has poisoned their minds against healers. Highlighting how easily people within a society can be lead to believe lies. The imagery and adventures within the plot never ceases to amaze me. It is always fast paced and pact with drama and action. A quest forced upon the heroin who has no choice but to participate.

I would love, love, love it if this became a movie, it would be a mixture of both The Hobbit and Harry Potter if it has a good director and actors unlike the annoyance of twilight (yes you may have discovered my hate for this by now...) But until then I highly recommend this book if you love fantasy, action and light romance... The this is written for you!

Here's the book trailer (see an amazing to-be film!):

Turn this in to a film, PRETTY PLEASE? :)
